Biden Says He’ll Mandate Masks for First 100 Days in CNN Interview

Presumptive President-elect Joe Biden spoke openly in an interview on CNN on everything from hypothetical disagreements with Barack Obama to Covid-19 guidelines he’d like to see enforced:

When pressed by host Jake Tapper about corruption scandals involving his family especially his son Hunter and his brother Jim — and the fallout caused by even the appearance of impropriety, Biden proclaimed, “My son, my family will not be involved in any business, any enterprise, that is in conflict with … the presidency and government.”

His claim strains credulity.

Biden later said, “Where the federal government has authority, I’m gonna issue a standing order that in federal buildings, you have to be masked … in interstate transportation, you must be masked airplanes, buses, etc.”

Already that statement is being amended with an asterisk by Dr. Anthony Fauci, who said that a 100-day mask mandate may not be enough to contain the pandemic. Fauci recently agreed to stay on to serve in the Biden administration as a prominent member of his coronavirus response team.
