Business Owner Interrupts Reporter on TV To Explain Why He Isn’t Closing His Restaurant

Dave Morris owns D&R’s Daily Grind Café in Portage, Michigan, and stepped into WMMT’s live shot to explain why he put a sign on his door that said they are open for dine-in customers in defiance of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) coronavirus restrictions:

Morris told WMMT that since Whitmer banned indoor dining that his sales decreased by 60%.

“With us only doing to-go orders in a cold climate with breakfast is not working at all. This is driving us into bankruptcy quickly. Things have to change,” he said.

Onerous Covid restrictions have left countless business owners facing the possibility of financial ruin.

Morris argued that the government could’ve given families $20,000 to shut their businesses for two months and flatten the curve, but, instead, they spent the covid stimulus on their personal priorities.

Meanwhile, a growing number of business owners across America are fighting back and standing up against what they deem a gross government overreaching.
