For the past several weeks, pro-Trump cable news network Newsmax has had guests on air making claims about the election services companies Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic only to backpedal and clarify that their claims are unconfirmed:
The claims of systemic voter fraud from conservative activists center on unsubstantiated allegations that Dominion, through vulnerable equipment, partisan executives, or a combination of the two, altered the election results. Yet circumstantial evidence has given credence to the misgivings a growing number of conservatives genuinely feel about Dominion’s free reign in the handling of tens of millions of electronic ballots.
Concerns over the lack of oversight have increased given the voting system manufacturer’s deep ties to Washington, D.C.’s ruling elite. Eric Coomer, Dominion’s Director of Strategy and Security, has long been associated with the Democrat Party’s upper echelon. Recent unconfirmed rumors link Coomer to Antifa and politically explosive social media comments, including, “Trump won’t win. I made f***ing sure of that.”
No one has presented evidence to support those claims, but reports have thoroughly documented Dominion’s executives cavorting with the political class to expand their influence.
More recently, Smartmatic fired off cease-and-desist letters, demanding retractions from cash-strapped Newsmax and One America News Network (OANN). Dominion has also threatened legal action.
