Despite the clear national security risk he poses on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) dared to call President Donald Trump “America’s Osama bin Laden.” The outrageous comment came in a recent interview with PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defied calls to remove Swalwell from the Intelligence Committee despite his compromising relationship with suspected Chinese spy Fang Fang.
Axios reported in early December that Swalwell and Fang were so close that in 2015 “amid a widening counterintelligence probe, federal investigators became so alarmed by Fang’s behavior and activities that … they alerted Swalwell to their concerns — giving him what is known as a defensive briefing.”
Swalwell has never denied the facts of the case but immediately attempted to blame President Trump for his behavior.
