A Michigan state representative who called upon “soldiers” to make supporters of President Donald Trump “pay” has been stripped of her committee assignments.
Rep. Cynthia Johnson, a Detroit Democrat and member of the House committee that heard testimony on alleged voter fraud, was removed from her committee by House leadership after her threats surfaced.
“Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American. They’re even more unbecoming of an elected official. Rep. CA Johnson has been stripped of her committees and we’re looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their investigation,” Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield posted to Twitter, along with a copy of the formal notice.

Johnson was assigned to the Families, Children, and Seniors Committee, the Agriculture Committee, and was Minority Chair of House Oversight Committee.
In the first video to surface on Facebook, Johnson rambles for three minutes, threatening Trump supporters with “So this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful, walk lightly, we ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right, be in order, make them pay.”
Now, more videos have surfaced in which Johnson, bellowing and shouting, calls upon “soldiers” to “rise” and fight conservatives.
In a video posted to Twitter by actor James Woods, Johnson dramatically shouts into her camera phone with a series of rambling calls for “soldiers” against things like racism and misogyny to “rise.”

Johnson has not been publicly diagnosed with any mental illness. She was elected to the Michigan House in 2018 after five failed attempts.
